The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the procurement of purchasing throughout the lifecycle of the project while being conscious of the associated budget.
General Purpose of the Position:
In this position, you will be responsible for managing vendors and sourcing equipment, goods, and services. You will create budgets, perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals, and find more profitable suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the purchasing of all steel required for the fabrication of each project by working with suppliers to secure the best pricing to maximize the success of the budget.
· Ensuring materials conform to AISC, ASTM, AWS, and other specifications in accordance with the contract documents.
· Establish and update an approved vendor/supplier database.
- Develop relationships with suppliers to aid in price negotiations.
- Manage lead times of material to see that production and delivery schedules are met.
- Assist Operations and Sales by ensuring material orders and inventories are correct and on track.
- Assist Estimating by pricing structural and miscellaneous steel required for each bid.
- Manage and resolve order grievances and discrepancies.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new software applications as required.
Authority:
· Purchasing Manager has an Authority up to $20,000-dollar amount Purchase order, after that limit is reached approval form Project Management Team is required.

Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
