Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Ironworking Foreman/Crew Lead to lead our team in steel erection projects. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of field experience, expertise in safety protocols, and a proven ability to run crews of welders and ironworkers. Experience with PEMB (Pre-Engineered Metal Building) systems is a plus. This role involves planning and managing all aspects of steel erection to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a crew of welders and ironworkers on steel erection projects.
  • Develop and implement phasing plans to optimize project timelines and workflows.
  • Ensure projects adhere to AISC standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Oversee the installation of structural steel and PEMB systems (if applicable).
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects remain on budget and meet deadlines.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and enforce safety measures on-site.
  • Provide hands-on training and guidance to crew members to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate records of job progress, materials, and crew performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide project execution.
Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ironworking and steel erection.
  • Proven experience leading crews in the field, with a focus on safety and productivity.
  • Familiarity with PEMB systems is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of AISC standards, safety protocols, and steel erection procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute phasing plans effectively.
  • Experience in maintaining project timelines and budgets.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including working at heights and lifting heavy materials.
